American Election

It was less than 2 months ago we Indonesians had our general election. Today I witnessed another election: the U.S. Presidential election. But the result was different from Indonesia's. While in Indonesia our former president, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, daughter of our first president Soekarno, lost and we got a new president SBY, here in the U.S. they preferred the son of the former president Bush to run for his 2nd term. I was stunned when I read the New York Times online and found Kerry conceded. I downloaded his concession transcript and until now I still find it hard to believe. I am sad; I was hoping that the U.S. would have a new president.

What's done is done... I am going to leave this country next year after completing my study, but I do hope that things will get better for the States. And I also pray for my country Indonesia under the new leadership so that the country can be stable and sail towards the right direction.
